SASKATCHEWAN
OPERATING ROOM
NURSES GROUP

President
Aaron Parker
With over 7 years of perioperative practice, my commitment to the organization stems from a desire to instigate positive changes in the surgical field in our province. Urology, particularly with a focus on implants, stands out as my favourite specialty. This helps to drive my passion for enhancing and advancing this vital and often underappreciated aspect of healthcare.

Past President
Cherry Dabao
With over 15 years of experience in the OR in 3 different countries, I take pride in my journey. I've enjoyed working in the OR because of the collaborative teamwork! I'm looking forward to the innovative operations in our province and how we can make patient outcomes better.

Treasurer /
President Elect
Jan Buragay
My passion for becoming a perioperative nurse is driven by the collaborative team dynamic and the ongoing opportunities for learning. With over two years of experience in the operating room, I have developed a particular interest in orthopedics, which has become my favourite service.

North Liaison
Natalie Chrapko
I have been a perioperative RN since 2012, realizing quickly that it was my passion. I enjoy the varying surgical specialties we have in our rural OR, and the fact that each case is unique -- there is always something new to learn! Perhaps what I like most about perioperative nursing is the interdisciplinary collaboration, as you truly learn to work with and trust others in a way that is unparallelled in other nursing areas. As I gained experience, I have taught many labs and clinical rotations for several different perioperative programs, and have recently moved into an education role within my facility. I look forward to this opportunity to continue to advocate for perioperative collaboration, community and shared learning within Saskatchewan.
South Liaison
Taylor Long

Secretary
Maggie Metke
I have worked in the operating room for 14 years and have spent the last 7 years working both in the theatres and as a Clinical Nurse Educator. This career has led me to pursue my passion for OR nursing in rural Guatemala where I was lucky to volunteer for two surgical mission trips. Never stop learning, and never stop giving back.

Education
Eunice Assem-Erhase
Initially aspiring to be a teacher, my journey led me to nursing, where I was able to merge my passions. I hold a masters in perioperative nursing and adult education. I am also a fellow in Ireland's Faculty of nursing and midwifery, and am pursuing my doctorate at the University of Manitoba.
